Tok is back!

Tok got adopted on Saturday, but unfortunately it didn't work out. He was lonely without other dogs to keep him company and didn't enjoy apartment life... So now, Tok is back with us.

After I picked him up, he was very happy to be reunited with his puppy pals!

After lots of playtime and treats, Tok snuggled with me on the couch until bedtime.

I'm sure he will find his forever home soon. He is just too sweet.

Chip?!

Tok has a very important question... "Can I have one of those veggie chips?!" No Tok, BUT you can have a tasty puppy treat. Hooray!

Cuddle Bug

Tok loves to snuggle on the couch with us! He is such a cuddle bug.

And when there are no people to snuggle, Tok settles for a pillow or two...

Adoption Event Adventures

Today Tok woke up ready to take on the world, but we started with the Fair Lakes Petsmart. After a yummy breakfast, it was time to play with his new assortment of toys while I got ready for our outing. Tok is very easily entertained and kept himself quite busy.

Watch this goof in full play mode!

After some silliness, it was time to head out to the adoption event! Tok jumped right into the car and off we went...

After a long day of cuteness and puppy kisses, Tok was all tuckered out. We went to enjoy some lunch with friends and then headed home to relax.

And relax we did! We snuggled and cuddled...

And Tok continued to be his adorable, lovable self!

Scary Kittens

We introduced Tok to a couple of our foster kittens last night. Poor gentle Tok was a touch scared of them and didn't dare look the terrifying three month old kittens in the eye...

It was so sad (but mostly hilarious!) that a 65 pound great dane would be so afraid to look at a kitten who wanted so badly to be his friend. So we've been spending a lot of time petting Tok while our adult cats got to know him and tonight our Tok discovered that feline friends aren't so bad. He is still a little nervous of the kitty pride, but no longer fears kitty nuzzles and purrs. And that is a good thing in this house!

Tok's first night...

What can I say? Well, Tok is perfect. Absolutely perfect. He is laying next to me with his adoring big brown eyes and all I can think is how much I want to squish his big ole face. He is lovely and charming and... perfect.

When we saw him at the adoption event, Tok was happily on his back receiving belly rubs from his young volunteer. Tok loves kids and belly rubs, so he was understandably in heaven. He was making out with everyone who dared to dip to his eye level. That one's a kisser! We filled out the paperwork and away we went... Tok jumped into the car and happily gazed out the window. He knew something good was about to happen!

When we brought him home he was instantly accepted into our pack of pups. Our nervous shepherd quickly decided that he was harmless and sweet. Our bossy jack russell terrier established that she was the boss and Tok bowed politely to her will. Our goofy, lovable pit bull couldn't stop licking Tok, further establishing that Tok is dashingly handsome and superbly charming. He was a fan favorite with the pups. Next we introduced him to our kitties and all was well. He doesn't seem to care one way or the other about his new feline friends. There are too many things to sniff in this house and he's on the case! All and all, a very nice beginning to a beautiful foster relationship!

After Tok settled in, it was that special time of day... DINNER TIME!!! Instantly, Tok turned into a giant puppy. "Dinner you say?! I LOVE DINNER!!!" He gobbled down all of his food, but was happy to share it with us whenever we took the bowl and handed it back. What a good boy! After another potty break outside, something amazing happened... Tok discovered the toy box! He loves squeakers and this stuffed pheasant is among his new favorite things.

After a nice play session, it was time for a nap. All of the larger beds were taken by the other pups so Tok grabbed the smaller bed next to me. It wasn't long before he was in dream land...

After a good nap in his tiny bed, Tok came and joined me on the couch for some more belly rubs...

And then relaxed on the comfy pillows...

I think he could get used to this pampered life. He is such a good boy! We cannot wait to find him the perfect forever home because, again, he is perfect. :)

When I met Tok...

I met Tok at an adoption event about a month ago. He was a quiet hound, but his personality really stood out in a store full of adoptable dogs. He was gentle with the pushy pups, licked every child that passed, and walked like a dream on his leash. I instantly loved him and his squishable face and big old head. He was just so lovely.

I saw him every week and introduced him to my foster kittens. He was a dream. He sniffed the kitten and laid his head gently on my lap. Then walked off with his volunteer to explore some more smells in the store.

Tomorrow we get to bring Tok home as our foster pup. I'm so excited!
